Awaiting delivery of new 545i sport in 2 weeks. Told dealer I want the run flats taken off when car delivered and replaced with either,? Michelin Pilot Sport-PS2 or Goodyear Eagle F1-GS-D3 non Run-Flats. I will pay the difference in price and pay for the installation as well.(Tired of harsh and firm ride with the Dunlop Run-Flats).These are the top rated Max Performance Summer tires in Tire Racks tire survey results. Can't decide which of these I should order. Looking for a smooth riding, good handling tire that doesn't tramline. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with either of these tires on the 5451 sports?

I have GoodYears and they have been a royal PITA to balance, they flat spot and tramline like crazy. Go with Michelin, I have not tried them, but they have to be better then the goodyears, matter of fact, the run flats were better except for the noise.

Me, too. My GSD3s flat spot too much - it's really bad getting on the freeway after work. I need at least 5 miles of warmup till they even out. Goodyear's replacing them for me with another Dunlop model, which I'm sure I won't like, but at least they're standing behind their lineup.

A local shop that does a lot of 911 race prep turned me on to Toyo Proxes T1-S tires. Nearly all the 911 owners who have there cars serviced there swear by these tires. I had been running on Pilot Sports, and for about the same price, the Toyos blew them away. I just got my 5 so I'm on Dunlops right now, but I'll probably switch over when the OEM tires are dead.

Hmm... I might have to cancel my goodyear plan and get the michelin ps2's instead. Both tires are nearly equally rated on tirerack. Will see!
