My Ride: 2008 BMW 535i Sport Package
So I've done a pretty good amount of research on the subject, as well as gotten info from the previous owner of the rims, but I am experiencing extensive rubbing w/ with current rim setup.
I have a 2008 535i Sport w/ Monet Bohemian rims 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear. Currently I'm running 245/35 in the front and 275/45 in the rear and have been getting pretty bad rub on the right fender side when turning. From what I've seen, most people who run this setup, even with a drop, don't have any issues. Why am I having this problem?
For a fix, would I be better served going with a 245 or 255/30 tire, or would a fender roll work for me? The roll would be cheaper, as I could replace one tire that's relatively widely available. But I am about to move to NorCal in 3 weeks and need to get my rubber squared away before I make the drive.

Not lowered. I believe the offsets are +25.... Could be wrong though. In fact most likely am because I don't remember that being the offset.

I have 19's and rub some when going over bumps and stuff (over a bridge at full speed on a highway, across intersections that have high and low spots, etc). I can't imagine how bad 20's must rub, especially if you were to carry a passenger. I have stock sport suspension on my car.

If you're running 20s, you should get 245/30/20 front and 275- or 285/25/20 rear - these sizes have been proven to be the most effective on E60s. And still there's a possibility they will rub due to wrong offsets.
Sizes you mentioned will definitely rub, it has been done by many and all with about the same results. If you search this forum long enough, you'll find lots of threads on this.

I run a 245/35/20 on a 20X8.5 rim and have no rubbing what so ever. It all has to do with offset. You could try a smaller profile, but you cant roll your front fenders. Take a look, they are already rolled.

definitely try rolling your fenders first. i think you are running extremely thick tires for a 20" set-up though (are you seriously on 45s on the rear?). who sold you that set-up? your rears are much higher than the fronts, that may be a larger issue here. but, for comparison sake, im lowered 2" past my previous stock sport stance and running on 20" wheels. my tires are 245/30/20 and 285/25/20 and i have my fenders rolled as well.....but i STILL get rubbing if i hit a slope on the freeway at high speed or ride with two or more passengers.
start with fender rolling, but ultimately consider a lower profile tire set up (all around) when its time for your next set...

I misspoke. The back are 275/35.
These same rims were on member Salaki's car and he had no issues. And my research shows a, lot of people saying they run 245/35 just fine.
Think I'm going to look into 245/30 and see how they run.

275/35/20 is also a weird size. Anyway, going to a 245/30 will work. But if you truely have a 275/35, it will look funny.

They are 275/35, truly. Lol. But I guess my original questionable incorrect info is enough to wonder. We shall see.
They look fine with the sizes on it now.
