I have 135 style wheels, 18 inch non staggered with Bridgestone run-flats. It started getting cooler recently and the TPMs gave me low pressure warnings for the fronts. I understand cooler temps can drop the PSI of a tire. Checked inside the door and it states 35psi up front and 42psi in back when cold. The fronts were at 28psi, I added air and all is good. Today it was the backs and they were at 28psi. Seems like a huge drop from 42psi. These tires are new (CPO 535 I purchased in July) so I figured they would have been set to OEM pressure at the dealer.
Is it normal in a RFT to have a large drop in pressure due to the cooler temp? Should I be running the tires at OEM recommendations or is there a better setup? My thought is the dealer had all 4 tires at 35psi, but I wanted to get input from the pros on the forum. Appreciate the input.

don't count on anything that assumes someone else put the proper pressure in.. Set the pressures yourself with a quality gauge based on the label on the door and monitor the pressure daily/weekly to see if you have a change that indicates a slow leak.

Dealer tire installers or their outside contractors probably didn't put the correct amount in. As stated, monitor the tires yourself for leaks.

Thanks fellas. I figured that was the case, but had to ask. Ill keep monitoring the tires, and keep them at OEM specs.

I was just inquiring about correct tire pressure yesterday. There seems to be a lot of ideas as to what the tire pressure should be. On my 04 545i w/sport package, the Manual calls for 32F 35R. Fully loaded with luggage and at speeds over 100mph it called for 38F 42R IIRC. I know the door jam sticker is what we all look at but there is a big discrepancy between the two. I always bump mine up a few PSI per tire, but decided I would try what BMW recommends for a few days just to see how it feels. I may have to bump them up soon. Expecially with non-rft tires, the ride is just too soft. What is everyone else running tire rpessure wise?
