The other week I noticed my Hankooks were all set to 32 lbs. My max pressure is 50 lbs so I took all my tires up to 42 lbs to allow for heat buildup, etc. I seldom have anyone in the car, but the road gets damn hot down here in South Florida. I don't want the pressure too high to avoid excessive wear in the middle. What would you say is a good pressure for me to keep my tires at? Something tells me 42 lbs may be to high, I do notice the car taking the small bumps a little harder.

Check the placard on your driver side door jamb. It will tell you the recommended tire pressure settings for your car. It's OK to fun a few higher (3-5psi) if you like a taut ride but never exceed the max PSI on the tire sidewall.

The recommended tire pressure for the 550i Sport with staggered setup is 36 PSI for the fronts and 44 PSI for the rears.

But I'm running aftermarket 19" wheels with a higher max. The sidewalls are lower.

My 550 is a LCI running 19 inch style 172 wheels. My 19 inch wheels come with the car. The recommended pressure notated on the driver's side door is indeed 36 psi for the fronts and 44 psi for the rears.

Okay, just checked the tires since they been riding hard for the past 3 days. The range of pressure was 43-44 (cold in the shade) I took them all down to 40 lbs. I'll see how that goes for a few days. I really didn't like them riding so hard, but the 32 initial lbs was way too low. (felt like a mercedes - lol)

What's the MAX for your front and rears? Listed on the tires. For me to have my tires at 44 psi (cold) and the max is 50, that just really seems high. I heard if you tire pressure is too high you can get higher wear in the center of your tires.

51psi. I would never run such a high pressure. Too unforgiving a ride and too much center tire wear and too much risk of a bent rim if I hit a pothole.
