My Ride: Soon to be 2006 530xi Silver on gray. Premium, Premium Sound, Sports(lite), Cold Weather pkgs, Navi
I have a 2006 530xi which still has stock tires. The dealer replaced 3 tires 1.5 years ago and of course the final one(Driver side front) has worn badly enough to replace it. I am thinking that I will probably replace both fronts to at least have even tires up front.
Is there any advice anybody has about the tires they would recommend in the OEM size?
Thanks

I recommend the same brand that the dealer put on for you. Speaking of the Dealer, I would find a new one. When the tires were changed they should have recommended to you that all 4 are replaced, as it is a 4 wheel drive. At a minimum they should have warned you as to the potential problems that can arise with all-wheel-drive cars when there is uneven tread on the tires.

I've got the same tires after trying Hankook and not being able to get them balanced for anything. I hear the Conti tires are good too. Both are good all season tires with warranties.

The Michellin Pilot A/S is a good year round tire . They dont last as long as the oem tires but are not to bad in the snow . If you have a snow tire package or snow tires you use in the winter I would go with the Continental ContiTouring Contact . I think its a much better choice over the GoodYear Eagle RSA .
Just dont go with a cheap tire , you get what you pay for .

My Ride: Alpine White 2006 530Xi (SLD)
so many threads about this on the forum...
Anyway, if you can afford the extra bucks, go for the Michelins. But Conti DWS will last about 2-3 times as many miles, cost about half and will preform 99% as good as Michelins. My personal preference, even though I am able to afford the Michelins, is the DWS - that's what I voted for with my own checkbook. Not a regret in the world. I posted a thread with a pretty detailed review on them too - search my content for "DWS".

Thanks for all the replies. I took most of your advice and went with the same tire - Continental TouringContact 94V - we'll see if they fixed the wear problems with the new alignment.
