ticking sound like card hitting spokes on bicycle wheel

My Ride: 2007 Sapphire Black Metallic 525i. Beige Dakota Leather, Premium package, bluetooth, BMW Assist, Xenon adaptive lights, Sirius radio

Ticking sound does not sound metallic and goes away after warm up. Someone mentioned the VANOS could do this? Any idea

I think it is the A/C compressor. At least that is what I heard.

As far as I know the noise does not mean that something is wrong. I have it too every now and then.

i would put money on the ac compressor.
