Hi All,
I am new to this forum and joined mainly because I am experiencing some difficulties with my e60 at the moment, and I wanted to see if some people may have come across a similar problem or may know a solution to this, before I give up and go to BMW so that they can charge me an arm and a leg.
Basically, for the past month I have had the engine light on every now and then, one day it'll be on, the next day it won't. When I went to a mechanic he told me that there could be a problem with the air flow sensor. However, I decided to wait and check it out in Germany because I was going there anyway. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances I didn't have the time to check it out in Germany and on the way back to England on the Motorway, I suddenly experienced no response from my throttle. No matter how much I floored the pedal, the rev meter was not moving and my car just started dropping speed.
However, when I turned the engine off and turned it back on, the car started driving like it normally did, and it still is *touch wood*.
I'd greatly appreciate it if people could post some suggestions as to what the problem might be, and what solutions there may be as well.
Thank you very much.
