Every manual transmission I've driven before I have not had to blip the throttle while upshifting. Of course I blip the throttle on every downshift so I don't have to slip the clutch at all. Now with the 545 when I'm upshifting into 5th and 6th I HAVE to blip the throttle otherwise the clutch will engage with this nasty thud. I don't know if I should chalk this up to the clutch delay valve, but it is annoying to have to do that so I don't get the thud and make the passengers think I can't drive a manual. Also in the mornings when I first started out I have to slip the clutch more than normal and give it a little extra gas so I get a smooth engagement in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd upshifts. Usually from a dead stop I don't over 1000rpm before the clutch has fully engaged, in the mornings the car likes some more rpm and some slippage for a smooth takeoff. Any of you experience the thud upshifting to 5th and 6th without the throttle blip?

Something doesnt sound right... I think theres something wrong with your clutch... have your dealer check it out... I hope its still under warranty... You're right you dont need to throttle blip for upshifts... just logically think through it... totally doesnt make sense to blip the throttle for an upshift. Engine RPMs dont sync up. You sound like you know what youre doing so I'm not going to go through that... so I would say you got some clutch issues...
