i've had a RFT repaired (plug/patch from inside) and it was fine at "high" speeds.
ran the tire for 6 months before changing all 4.

***i had to find a slighty shadier tire shop who was willing to fix RFT's though.

You will however need to think about what you do in the case of a puncture; get a spare tyre to put in your boot or an alternative temporary solution to get you to the next garage or tyre centre.
This post made me wonder......does the US sport package w/RFT's include a spare?

Excellent question! Did anyone ever successfuly repair a puncture on a RFT?
Yes, I repaired my RFT. I test my tire pressure after a month and it didn't lose any psi.
American Tire refuse to repair my damage due to their policy with RFT, so I went to a small repaire shop. It only cost me $5 bucks.

I have a 06 530i with sport package. Yes, there is a spare in my trunk.

For the most speed ratings repairs are illegal, at least over here in Germany.
This is not only for RFT's, it's for all tires.

I haven't had a problem since I have the car, but roads in Germany are pretty clean...

Hi Jay,

a screw can damage every tire, no matter if a runflat or a "normal" one.
Three times in a year.....hard to believe it happens accidentally.
Maybe a jealous neighbour?

Cheers
Matts

I've had 4 nails in 3 months on my tires before... 3 times in 1 year isnt that unbelievable... its just bad luck.

A repairable version of RFT possible? I think that makes sense. You cannot trust the roads all the time.Seems like BMW will make RFT a standard feature in all cars.

..but not in the fastest ones M5-M6.
I believe you must find the one (or maybe her ) who's putting screws under your tires and give him a lesson ...or her??

such a scenario really possible?? why would some one just do that? I think this is a potential problem with RFT tyres rather than a jelous neighbour.
