I don't think any of these responses are incorrect. I don't think there appears to be a standard interval for all vehicles. Mine happens to be exactly 20 seconds. Sure wish it was on the hour, though...

The differences in timing might be a nav, no nav thing...

On both of my E60s, it was 4 or 5 seconds with the long beep happening about one second before the top of the hour...

I timed ours and it was 30 seconds. But, it is taken care of now! No more beep!

We also "reset" the tranny. It's like a new car now with the nice shifting and no beeping! :twoup:
