Ok!

So after deciding that the 997S won't be such an Improvement (power wise) over my 550i, and after I called up my dealership to place an order for an M5 w/Manual gearbox and been told that due to some 'issues' (??) BMW is postponing the Manual tranny option a little bit and they are currently not taking orders for a Manual gearbox M5's... I went back today to Porsche and put a deposit on a 997 Turbo !!!

After getting yesterday in the mail all 3 car magazines i'm subscribed with (Car & Driver, Road & Track and Motortrend) and they all have articles about the 997 TT... It was enough of a sign for me to go ahead and make the move... (Well.. I had to have an excuse...)

Well... I now have about 6-8 VERY LONG months (at least...) to stand in line for my (2nd in position) dream car...

Basically, Only when I get the spot reserved I'll be called again to build my car, but i'm thinking of Speed Yellow on Black, Chrono pckg, Adaptive seats, Carbon Fiber Pckg, Premium sound, all the rest is pretty much std, not like a Carrera S that in order to get to the same level of options you'll have to spend so much you'll be paying the Turbo's Base price...

Gadgets, why dont you speak to Porsche Nedielassung (is that how you spell the damn word?) in Koln, a friend of mine works there, and they can have your car ready in 3.5months. As long as you dont want any Porsche Exclusive items ...

price will be higher though

I had few dealers in the east coast willing to 'sell' me a spot for $10-$15K over sticker... I'm not that desperate... call me stupid, but I mentally can't pay over retail.

And it's in europe...

In the US same car's sticker will be about $135K, that's way below, forget about the headache involved in importing and getting decent service after...

I'll wait.

but i can assure you , that when it comes to waiting for a porsche turbo, it feels like light years. I know what its like, a person i know received his on june the 27th, the day after the debut of the turbo, and he had waited for 14 months
