After school today I began cleaning out my trunk and I notice a few scratches on the flat part of the rear bumper...I take a closer look and there are a bunch small tiny scratches in a row all lined up, out comes the WTF!!! First thought was that the dealership was the culprit...I took it in for service last week. So after 20 30 minutes of trying to buff the sucker out, no dice. So im standing there trying to think back how this could have happened or who had done it and I give up and close my trunk....low and behold, the M5 trunk finisher I had installed about a few months ago lined up perfect with the scratches!!!!

The trunk finisher physically isn't touching when it is closed so it must be from when closing the trunk it knicks the bumper.
For those who have a trunk finisher installed ever had this problem!??!? The finisher is installed correctly, and lined up perfectly...Not like i always slammed my trunk closed before, but my only solution now is to push the trunk closed softly. The damage has been done already and I am to blame

Here are the pictures: Hope none of you go to check and see the same problem.....

Humm, I don't think I have noticed this one mine. I will have to look later.

I guess since the damage is already done, there's not much to do at this point. Or if you really want to, maybe take really fine sand paper and sand the bottom of the trunk finisher to make it smooth?

Its probably from letting things rest on that surface when you're loading stuff into the trunk... either way, too small to care, seriously, dude

I have the same problem. I have a black car, so when I first noticed it, I placed a small strip of black electrical tape on the bottom of the finisher where it touches the bumper to minimize the effect.

mine doesn't do it and I've had the finisher for over 2 years now. either adjust the rubber stops on the car body or reattach the finisher a little higher

Mine does the same thing. I think it rubs ever so slightly when the trunk lid is slammed shut. Like many others here, I've learned to go with it.

Yeah, My brother told me to twist the rubber stoppers as far out as possible so I hope that solved the problem but still gonna just ever so softly close my trunk from now on.
