My Ride: 02/2006 525i Titanium Silver Metallic Manual 6-Speed
Default Third Generation iDrive - NBT

iDrive Generations:

1) CCC (As seen in E60s with Navigation up to 09)
2) CIC (For 2010 E60s with Navigation. Has 7 button controller)
3) NBT (Third generation iDrive from the 2013-2014 F series cars)

Anyone retrofitted the new NBT iDrive from the F-Series cars into E60?

I've read that one cool feature of the NBT is that it has all the features from the combox built in.

Anyone have any other info on this?

Thanks

Here is a list of parts needed to retrofit a NBT Navigation Unit in a E60. Please add to this if I am missing anything:

- NBT-HU from F30;
- NBT CID Screen from F30 or F25;
- Touch Controller; OPTIONAL
- Touch ECU; OPTIONAL
- NBT Video Cable;
- USB/Aux Port for armrest;
- USB cable;
- Faceplate for CIC on E60 (front panel buttons); (if car has CIC the actual one can be reused)
- Screen trim for E60; (if car has professional navigation CIC or CCC the actual one can be reused)
- Dash Trim for CIC Headunit for E60
- CIC Center Console Trim from 2010 E60

If you know any part numbers please post them

What's the availability/pricing on these parts? Does anyone know? I'm still doing my research on this and am confused whether I have M-ASK or CCC. I've read the iDrive Wiki but it confused me with the production dates. It made it seem as if I have CCC while I thought I had M-ASK because I have the standard audio no nav and small screen. 2007 530i prod date 10/06.

Thanks for any input in advance!

Interested in this retrofit!

If the only advantage of the NBT is the inclusion of com box features then it would be good to see a cost comparison of NBT v CIC w/com box.
