2009 550i!

i owned a 04' 745i a few years back loved the car and loved the attention, just didnt love the bmw visits..mind you this may have been due to the early idrive and transmission problems, as they said "over engineered". than i moved to the ls430 05' loaded. i loved the car b/c i never had problems w/ it. in the end i decided to go to a 5series b/c yea the ls is a nice car but its not fun and flashy, smart yes but not for me at age 32. it felt like a boat and once i turned a corner at 25mph everybody in the car would move and i had it dropped 1/5" w/ 20" rims. furthermore, the gas prices were killing me w/ an v8, i was putting 85bucks every 3-4days plus i was only getting 12-14mpg, it was eating me up by making a car payment just at the pump. mind you i could of gotten a sweet deal on an 750i but i changed my mind. speed is nice and luxury is nice but i like the style of the 5 and i looooove the once a week gas fill ups of only 65 bucks. i hoped this helps, by the way if i didnt have 3 dependents yea i wold go for the 750

I have driven the 750Li and the 460LS. Very different animals. Both marvelous in their own way.
The Lexus was just what you expect - smooth, quiet, cushy, comfy. If driving from NYC to LA, its the ultimate choice. But, it was pretty soft in the corners. Its much better than the LS 430 used to be, but still not a "drivers" car that leaves you feeling connected to the road.
The 750Li is very nimble for a large car and handles well. But, not quite as cushy. And, while its nimble, its not as sporty as the 550i.
In my opinion, it just depends on what you intend to do with the car, and how you tend to drive your cars.

I would never buy a Lexus, not after they copied 99% of their designs from Mercedes and BMW. I cannot stand Lexus. Definitely go with the 7 series.

What he said...Lexuses (or is it Lexi) are nice (my wife drives one) but they are basically soul-less barcaloungers on wheels. Given that you currently own a 5er, I think you will be sorely dissapointed handling-wise. The 750 is also nice but too damn big IMHO.

My vote is....neither! Stick with the 5 series and go with a 535 or a 550. The 750 is a boat. and the Lexus...well, it's a Lexus. What else is there to say?
