Now that I have completed the mods on my car, I'm thinking of selling it or trading it for an X5. The car is perfect and I love it, but it's not well suited for the winter-time roads in Eastern Washington. You see, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and really don't want to see all of the upgrades get trashed by the harsh winter. Last winter I drove my Camry and the front bumper got beat to hell with rock chips. I'm just under 19K miles on it and owe $45K. I've got just under 10k worth of mods installed.
Your thoughts? Anyone interested, or have an X5 with low miles that they want to trade?

What about putting on dedicated snows on winter wheels? Although I've never thought about it, aren't there things you can do to the front bumper to protect it from dings and chips?
You're got yourself a beautiful 535 there.

I am struggling with the same decision. Although I have not invested in any mods on my CPO - after one Toronto winter and commuting on Hwy 401 daily - I have numerous stone chips on my front bumper
its not how a our beautiful 5s should look - it looks like acne on a pretty face. Plus even with a set of winter tires its not the most reassuring car to drive in the winter. When my lease is up in year - I am looking to get an SUV - X5, X3 or maybe the Q5 - but my 5 drives like such a dream - I find it hard to imagine giving it up.

Good luck - what about applying a clear bra up front - it has helped my car quite a bit...

Personally I'd just keep it since chances are quite good you'd have a hard time breaking even on what you owe on it. In the end your 10K in mods would just be lost.
Ever think of just buying a beater for the bad winter days?

Just amazed at all the stuff done to the car but it was never lowered and no shadowline trim. hahaha
Then again, I feel your pain on the winter statement. My E60 is not great in the Winter at all and I bought an SUV for that.
