4 more lease payments left and I'm considering leaving BMW for a 2.5 - 3 years. I like variety and change in my life and can't see releasing the same car. It is unfortanate because I really do like the car and haven't seen anything that really excites me. I am considering a CL 500. BTW, the 6 doesn't do it for me (I'm not sure why) and I don't want to get the 7 until the new model comes out in another year or so. The 3s are too small. I'm thinking about test driving the CL:

Suggestions???

Have you thought about the CLS500? I think that looks much better than the CL500.

My wife has a 2006 CLS500.

Pros: 300+ Horsies, looks.

Cons: If you are over 6 ft, the raked-back windshield makes ingress/egress a headbanging affair.
cluttered dash, complicated software. Still takes me the manual and about 10 minutes to reset the
clock.
eats tires voraciously
Numerous annoying minor defects over the last 18 months
Service is a nightmare...Service Reps are overworked and stressed out.

Do you need a 4 door car? if so I second the CLS. If not take a look into Porsche.

If its the upcoming model of the CL then definitely... Or the new S-Class would be the second best... CLS doesn't really attract me, too many minor imperfections on designs..

I find it interesting that you would consider the new CL and not the 6-series. Take a look here and see for yourself the resemblance of the new CL to the 6-series.

After going through MB hell myelf, ANYTHING other than MB. Porsche, even (gasp) Audi is better. Arrrgh! Hell a CTS-V is preferable. Or 300 SRT-8 for that matter. Don't do it. You will be sorry. After all the repairs and 3 or 4 sets of tires, you will be kicking yourself.
