Think it might be a bit cold this morning

-3 celcius is nothing, the coldest reading I have seen on my car so far was -36 celcius last year.

Put the recommended pressure in the tires and put three 40lb sand bags in the back, in line with the rear wheels. The extra weight will make a huge difference in helping to prevent the tail from kicking out.

Keep the fuel tank full as well. I believe its located over the rear wheels in the E60. (Also useful for when you get caught in a jam and need to keep the engine running for hours!)

Man I'm spoiled and lucky to be here in SoCal USA. My sister has been in 3 auto accidents already all due to ice or snow in Colorado. You guys drive safe and careful this season. Looking forward to seeing new posts from you guys in the summer.

Let me guess. She's on 'all-season' tires, right?

First time yes and the first winter she was there. She has learned her lesson since and store snow tires for the winter in her garage. She has lived there for about 17 years now. The last 2 was not her fault. The last one the driver was on all season tires as well.
