Thats the exact same sound as I had last year. I haven't heard it in a while and not sure why it was there and where it went... Mine start out of no where and at speeds around 80-85 +. On windy days even at speeds around 70. I wasn never really able to turn the sound on and off if you know what I mean, just couldn't find it. When I painted my roof I jacked the front seal with a cord and then took it away after painting. I also replaced the sunroof seal due to being worn. I don't hear the noise anymore and I really can't say if this was the cause or not. Also, I replaced my jack pads. I heard this could also be a source.

It sounds like it is coming from above. Sunroof seal is a definite possibility.

Thanks for all of the responses. I'll have to give this a thorough investigation next weekend (classes kicking my ass this weekend). I'll be sure to post what I discover.
|
how are your door seals and also the jack pads underneath the vehicle on all 4 points?
|
Well, seeing as no water enters the car, I had assumed everything was okay. I have access to a lift, but I just need time to get to my cousin's home. It will probably be next weekend before I can check things. I looked at the top of my car today and didn't see anything obvious. I will also have to try the tape trick mentioned in a previous post.

That noise sounds just like mine did. See if you can visually check or feel for the loose brake duct thru the front of your bumper. The openings are on either side of the lower radiator grille.

Try putting some painters tape around the windshield perimiter (outside) so that is covers the seam where the glass meets the rubber. Has the windshield ever been replaced?

I guess I could have a look at my car tomorrow during lunch, but if it isn't obvious I will still need to toss it on my cousin's lift. He's the mechanic in the family, so he would probably do a better job of spotting it than I would anyway. :)
