Not sure why brake pads produce so much dust on all bimmers, but anyway, have you tried using some specific pads which are not that dusty?

I've heard that ceramic brake pads do not produce any dust, but they are not good for street driving (bad braking effect and noisy when not warm enough) and can damage standard rotors quickly.

Any other options besides ceramic pads?

Thanks!

Hi,

Hawk HPS pads is what I recommend to everyone wanting what you specified. They bite better than OE pads, but have less dust. I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts on the pads.

Hawk HPS Pads (Inc. Sensor)
Front - $100
Rear - $75

Ceramic pads have less dust because they are a harder compound, because of this, you lose braking power and have noise during a cold start.

Hope this helps.

is there any way to get BMW to change to ceramic while under warranty? what if my current ones are squeaking?

eagle one a to z wheel cleaner does amazing things, btw. you will still have to clean them once a week, but that wheel cleaner makes it easy as pie to clean.

Has anyone found a good safe spray on type solvent that will at least get the majority of it off? I have never owned a vehicle that has this much brake dust..
