Not sure if this is in the right place. But does anybody know if there is a way of getting teletext on the in car TV. I know all of the previous models E46/ X5 etc had the facility. This is pretty useful to me for checking stock price on the move or just general mucking about!! It seems odd that BMW dropped it in the newer model cars. As usual, your help is appreciated.

I wans very disappointed when I tried to activate the text on my TV tuner and it wasn't possible. Nowhere in any brochure was mentioned that it's not available anymore. Well, it is not mentioned that there is text either.
My main reason for purchasing the TV option was the text.

I bought the BMW settop-box for DVB-T and had the dealer install it. It is connected to the analogue TV tuner and it has text. But it is only possible when there is a DVB-T signal available.

IIRC, it's due to the fact that the TV Function in newer E60's (perhaps all E60's) is now digital & not analogue hence why you can get the Sky channels etc.

As the box is not directly say a Sky Box or Cable & Wireless etc. & no subscription is payable, i believe this is why the text function is not available. Not sure but perhaps you can pick up Bloomberg or one of the onther news channels that has a ticker with stock prices.

I very rarely use the TV Function as i've found i either need to be on top of a hill or next to a transmitter to get an even half decent signal.
