anyone knows if the 2004 530i steering wheel will go up and in when key is taken out or just up? I complain that my 04 530i wheel only goes up but not in when key is taken out to the dealer and they said it's the way it is but in the manual it said the wheel will go all the way up and all the way forward to ease entry. could anyone confirm this. thanks.

The steering wheel moves only up into its highest position for the easy entry/exit function.

The movement of the steering wheel is only for cars with the electrically adjustable steering wheel. Manually adjustable wheels do not move. Could it be that your car has a manually adjusted wheel?

Page 54 of the Owner's Manual states under Easy Entry/Exit, "To facilitate entry and exit, the steering wheel temporarily moves into the uppermost position."

Says nothing related to retracting toward the dash.
