Yep. I backed out last minute. I'm not a fan of how the older iDrive screen is brown, compared to the newer update which is silver, but I would be really pissed and upset if it started having problems shortly after the update. As you know, there's no going back. And I don't know about you, but I hate having my car at the dealership for service. They take forever!

I can live with mine, as it's fine and has no issues. It's not as "cool" looking, but whatever. Also, I got the new NAV DVD, so that's fine....hahahaha...although it's still brown. Blah!

I was having problem with my SOS going off, and the dealer said that it was a software problem. SO they updated the software and now I have the silver screen it looks great now, but they did have my car for 1 week, they told me it took them a long time to get everything talking each other after the software upgrade.

Correct. And if something goes wrong or the update stalls, they have to start ALL over. 2 days is lucky. A bunch of members have gone 3-4 days. i can't go that long without my baby. Even having a 335i loaner doesn't cut it. I want my car.

I had it done in one day, but that was a shcok as my dealer usually falls short of their estimates and go 1-2-3-4-5 days over. unacceptable that BMW has this many problems with their software upload process. I think its just a scam for dealers to charge BMW more

Cman,
My loaner is a 325XIT - Yikes - cool little cool car but quite a downgrade..Little thing is peppy but not very responsive off the line. I found out the hard way when I punched it at a stop sign - took a good second for the engine to rev up and launch..car is near new with 1900 miles on it. Quite a sun roof in the XIT - opens up all the way to the back seat.
Keeping my fingers crossed on the s/w upgrade - Also having the 2 year service done on the brakes - (fluid warning)

I should have just left my old name as it was. Hahahahaha! So you have a wagon? Try and pile as many people as you can in it and go joy riding.

Good luck and let us know of the outcome.
