So im gonna take my newly purchased 545i to the strip tonight. If its not to crowded ill run a few times. Nothing worse than sitting in the staging lanes all night only to run once or twice. Ive ran several cars here in the past, mustangs, corvette, and even my 540i auto. Anyone wanna take a guess at what ill run? Kinda like Passtime lol (anyone watch that show?)
Car is a 6 speed manual with 84k on the clock that is bone stock other than the charcoal filter removed this morning
The track is approx 1000ft above sea level. FYI my 540i auto bone stock went 14.35 @ 96 on a humid july night.

Is everyone's bmw to good for the strip? I know this isnt a mustang forum and bmw's arent necessarily built with the quarter mile in mind but these cars were made to be drivin hard every now and again!

Good luck and be safe! I love drag racing. I used to frequent the track in my 97 Eclipse GSX and my 93 Supra TT. Never been in the 545i but hope to get a few passes this season just for fun.
Depending on whether you get traction or not. Still kind of cool at night so the intake temp should be ok, but if your running run flat tires, the tire will break loose. I could see a 13.8 - 14.2 pass.

Update: 1st pass with spinning/ severe wheelhop and short shifting to 2nd yielded a 14.4@101
2nd pass I let some air out of the rear tires to about 25psi and bogged it pretty bad out of the gate but went 14.1 @ 102
will go back for a 3rd pass soon, hopefully some 13's will be in cards for me

I think with some more experience with your launch you could get down to 13.80's. Decent trap speed, what was your 60' time?

I had a hard time finding that fine line of feathering the clutch without spinning to bad. I either spun like crazy or bogged it, my 60ft showed it as my best was a high 2.2, pretty rough. I could def use a clutch delete vavle as the delay between shifts was horrible, i guarantee 2-3 tenths were left on the board because of this. So a 2.0 60ft with a cdv would put it at a mid 13 sec imo.
