Before I got my E60, I never ever gave my exhaust a second look. My E39, that I had for 10 years didn't even have a notch cut out of the rear bumper for the pipe.
Now I'm on this forum reading all the discussions about quad exhausts, Magnaflows, Eisenmanns, chrome tips, crossovers, etc. and all I have is a measly dual exhaust on the left side of my rear bumper. Even the Altimas and SUVs I see on my way to work have quad exhausts these days! Why does BMW reserve the separate dual exhausts for the turbo models and the quad exhaust for the M5? Don't they realize that the i and xi drivers want quads too? It just ain't fair!

I feel your pain, especially when I see that it's not just the V-6 Altimas that have quads. Many 2.5S Altimas around here have quads too, and those are 4cyl models, WTF BMW?!?!?!!? That's one reason why I swapped my single sided exhaust for a quad setup first chance I got

(Believe me, I've even thought of installing an M back bumper with fake pipes on the right, lol, but that would just be tacky.)

Remus makes a quad that will fit the 530xi. Not a true quad but the additional tips actually function, instead of just looking the part. It has a single muffler on the left side but in addition to the pair of output tips on the back there is 1 output on the front next to the exhaust input. This front output extends to a pair of tips that get installed on the right side. There was a setup for sale in the classifieds recently.

I know... I am double-screwed. 535 AND an xi model.
Got my little pipe sticking out there for everyone to see and laugh at!
