Purchased a second hand 2005 530I , it shows BOTH Brake lights with failure, they work fine,, the top edge has LED? lights but when I remove the bulb holders it has regular style bulbs. PLUS the plug to the tailight is spliced and has one wire NOT hooked up. In short H E L P,, thanks Tim

Ahh... it looks like the previous owner decided to do the retrofitting to LCI tails without going the OEM route or Bruce's cables.

I don't know of anyone that has retrofitted the tails this way, but in short, the easiest solution is to buy a set of Bruce's cable and call it a day.

Nomis, can you confirm if Tim could use V3 bruce cables for this situation?

If yes, Tim, there is a user (@BMWPower06 ) that is selling a set for $80 shipped.

The first thing I'd do is clean up that wiring job! And those look like after-market tails - I don't think Bruce's cables will take care of that!
What a mess

can't you just code the taillights via NCSexpert without needing bruce's cables. I know you can do that with e9x models, no cables needed, just coding to delete the bulb check which would delete the error code
