My service advisor just phoned me to let me know that they have version 12 as of Friday. He wanted to make an appointment to get my vehicle in for the update. Going next Monday. I asked him if there have been any problems with the installation of this upgrade and he replied that they have done quite a few of them since Friday and all have been great!

Can't wait until next Monday!

Shop foremen @Bill Jacobs BMW in Naperville told me no dealers he checked with in Chicago have v12 yet. Who's your dealer? Thanks.

Every US dealer should be able to get CIP 12.0 via online distribution... What a load of bunk some dealers give (I've gone through this with a local dealer before who I now avoid)

Fields BMW in Northfield.

Version 12 software fixes the following per BMWTIS:

-Poor reception in AM on cars with M-ASK
-CD player doesn't remember last position
-AFS causes battery draw
-Various telegram errors in satellites

Anyone know if this update is for NAV vehicles only? or does it apply to non-NAV as well?

NickP 07-06-2004 07:45 AM

CCC or MASK (Nav or non Nav)... The upgrade *IS* for both. All CIP upgrades apply to either. Doesn't mean it always addresses things for your car.

Sorry to be somewhat dense, but what's AFS? Also, is that list complete? It's the first list I've seen quoted as 'official'. Thanks.

Sam

AFS is Active Front Steering. There are more fixes for sure....

If there are other fixes, I haven't found them as of yet. These were the ones listed in the slides for the Round Table meeting/training sessions.
