My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.

The new Mini is still a "bumppy" one, for those who like one...a Mini, I mean...I guess...
But what will change the fact that RF are heavier and harder?
The RF needs it steel rims.
Maybe Kelvar would do, but who would pay for for it?
And still a hard tyre!
PS. There has always been space for a spare in a E60/61
I like mine.

I have a E90 330d SportPack European, 225/45R17RFT, 255/40R17RFT. I?m have to change tires and i?m thinking on changing the wheels to, 19!
In that case 225/35R19 NON-RFT and 255/30R19NON-Rft.
My question is, in your opinion what?s my best choice 19 with that sizes or 18 still non-rft?
What i?m hamming for is better grip, better looks, without loosing much suspension(softness).
I?m posting on this topic because i think it fits...

Well, I don't mind being different so here I go: I like the idea with RFT and I also believe the 2:nd generation of RFT:s are a much improvement compared to the first ones.

I think it is an indication of how fast things are moving and a recognition by tyre manufactureres that they are not even close to pleasing all of the people all of the time.
Hope thier list is a long as mine in terms of what is needed before I would be happy with these tyres.

Done 7,000 miles in the 530d now. I will be changing to non runflats within 2 weeks. Since getting a bit extra power from dms remap i can only sum these tyres up in one word. DANGEROUS.
Never mind the road noise it wont kill you. Maybe the tramlining wont kill you. But if it was not for the dsc my car would have been smashed up by now.
With the roads i drive in Scotland in any other condition than dry. They are bloody dangerous.
I was going to change the rears first but thankfully hit a pot hole and have a bulge in my front sidewall.
I would rather wait 2 hours for a tow truck than live with these tyres or not live with them!

Fraseman999. I don't have any experience of the latest 3rd/4th generation runflats, but I certainly found the very hard rubber compound in the RFT's gave very poor grip in Scottish cold weather. Switching to conventional tyres reduced the reliance on traction control dramatically on my 530d - also less OMG momemnts when the tramlining felt like an ice skid. go for it (but don't forget the spare and jack kit)
