I have a NON-sports 2006 525i. I'm not sure if I'm hallucinating but when the transmission is in the DS mode or manual, I feel the ride is more firm/ a little on the rough side. But I love the feeling. Makes me wish that I had more sense and ordered a sports package to begin with.

It's like Captain Kirk said--"too much LDS in the 60's."

hahahah. Now they call it, "on Crack." At least LDS was more expensive . . . factoring in inflation."
On the serious note, I don't think the suspension firmness changes, it's just that you drive the car harder, so it gives you a stiffer feedback . . .
Yesterday, I made a quick right turn, half way into the turn, I stumped it . . . truly on rails . . .

[/quote]Hi B32:
Did you mean LDS or LSD. I know that limited slip differentials are more expensive that crack, but I am not too sure about LDS.

There is no documented direct connection between the suspension and Sport Mode or DS in any of the tranny options for either the 5 or 6 series. There is a connection between DS and steering functions, at least in the 6 series and possibly in the 5 series as well. This has to do with more direct feedback in the standard Servotronic power steering or active steering corrections based on yaw corrections with cars equipped with Active Steering. But neither of those features are real suspension (stiffer, firmer, etc) changes.
Sorry but I think it is the placebo effect or as others have stated you just may be on drugs

How do I know what type of suspension my 545i has?
My car comes with 18" 124s, active steering, steptronic and dynamic drive. Can a car come with all these options and have the standard suspension?
