Given a choice using aftermarket solutions, I would always go with a S/C over a turbo. S/C's are cheaper and easier to retrofit and fix, don't have turbo-lag, and are less destructive to your engine should one of the components fail.

What's interesting is that many car manufacturers currently use s/c's in their high performance models (eg. Audi, MB, Ford, GM). Maybe I'm wrong, but the only car manufacturers that seem to have a good track record with turbos are Porsche and Nissan (with Toyota, Volvo, Saab, and Mazda to a lesser extent). I'm still on the fence with BMW's use of turbos but the engineering that went into their lates M turbo motor definitely looks promising.

do i need to get it out of 535xi or can it be from any vehicle...? like a 335???
