My Ride: 2006 530i Carbon black with R19 M 172 Rim
M sport package+ Sunroof
Black dakotar interiro with titanium trim.
+ profession pack
Aftermarket: AFE CAI, Remus exhuast, sprintbooster, M5 rear spoiler, AC roof spoiler, carbon fiber trim sills, etc..

Hi. I am getting my 06 530i soon.
Has anyone supercharged their 3.0 engine ? I got this,

from the australian motor magazine ad, and thinking of getting it done. I think the engine they referred to is the old 3.0 l with 170 kw.
Has anyone got one done ? or has other similar mod done to their car. Thank you for the feeback and advice.
btw it is worth to do chip tuning ?

I am assuming that this upgrade will be an expensive one. For that price, why not skip the 530i and go for something like the 540i or even a 550i? It will be alot more reliable and you even get a warranty from BMW themselves. This is just my opinion though.
In terms of the chip tuning, I wouldn't bother with it because the power gains are marginal at best for petrol engines. However, if it was a diesel engine then go for it since the gains are more prominent.

I just had the powerchip software installed here in LA (they have an office in AUS and in USA) and it is excellent. You will definitely notice the extra performance.
