I took my car in because I could hear excessive wind noise with the roof closed and shade open. The dealer replaced the sunroof seal, the one that goes around the edge of the roof. I noticed when I got home while doing my typical "clean-up the grease prints", that the seal is not one complete piece. There is a break in it on the side closest to the rear window. Also, the seal is raised some where the 2 ends meet together. Now, I never looked at my original seal that close....but I know it laid flat all the way around, and there was no noticeable break in the seal that caught my eye.
Is the seal suppose to be one piece? The wind noise is much better, but is still there...wondering if wind is getting by where the break in the seal is??? I'm thinking I got a shitty install.

Here are a few pics.....

Join the club I had mine replaced because of wind noise, and whola fit and finish is not as good as original took it back they replaced it again still not as good as I would like.

The problem is at least what the tech told me is that the seal is mated to the car with 3m tape and has to be at a certain temp to get a good seal and also a steady hand is also needed.

As long as clean ups don't fudge it anymore I will not complain anymore

Well, curiosity just got the best of me kt, so I ran out to the parking garage at work. My seal is perfectly aligned and flat. It took me a while to locate the seam, located at the back, as it is so tight as to appear seamless. FWIW....

Thanks for confirming......I was certain the seam wasn't noticeable before. They had to order a new light for the rear lighter ring...so when it comes in, I'm going to have them re-do the seal.....thats pretty half ass in my opinion.
I'm still surprised a seal can be defective with the car not being that old. Maybe there was wind noise since it was new...i dunno. Same thing with other items. So far I've had the AS module replaced, vacuum pump replaced, sunroof seal, , cd changer, and the light ring around the lighter, when it comes in.
Car only has 41k miles.....thats pretty sad this many things have been replaced so far. Now I know why so many of you trade up before the warranty runs out.

My seal is also unnoticeable, and it was replaced last year!

Yeah, just a lousy install--sure they'll correct it. It's probably just a fluke that it went bad so soon on an '06.
