Sun Roof lound BANG noise when closing from vent setting

My Ride: 2005 E60 BMW 525i - BIRTHDAY- 11/04 - EXTERIOR- Amethyst Gray Metallic. INTERIOR- Beige Dakota Leather w/Dark Poplar Grain Wood. OPTIONS- Automatic Transmission, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, 6-disc CD changer, Bluetooth using Verizon Raza V3c phone, SIRIUS Satellite Radio. ADD-ON's- 545i Chrome Grill, Euro Red Reflectors, Factory all-weater matts & Factory Coat-Hanger.
Yesterday I had my sunroof set to the vent mode when I went to shut it I hear a B A N G ... I try it a few times and each time it sounds like it's going to break it bangs so loud... I remember someone posted they had this problem some time ago but don't remember what the fix was....
anyone remember?

Its a known problem... BMW knows about it. Take it back to the dealer. i believe its the front of the glass scratching a plastic piece when it closes... they'll need to file down the plastic a little. Very common on the E60.

Had the same problem, don't know the fix, but dealer resolved it with little trouble.

Had the same problem with the sunroof and I am calling my dealer in Oklahoma City tomorrow. Thanks for posting the problem and the owners who posted how to deal with the issue.
This is just another problem I have had with my 06 530i. Last month my I-drive went out. While my car was a the dealer being fixed I visited the Acura and Infiniti dealers......

I wish I knew about it when I brought my car in 2 weeks ago now I'm going to have to wait and knowing me I'll forget about it.... well hopefully by the time I bring it in they will have a fix so my car can get the ipod (since they told me 2 weeks ago my car missed it by 4 months being 2 old)
