I love this forum, and never get tired of seeing pictures of everyone's 5ers, but I've never understood something. Why do most of you who post pictures feel the need to hide your license plate? Afterall, it's pretty visable every day when your driving down the road.

You can never be too safe with protecting your privacy and identity. Often we post clues to our names, occupations, etc. so a smart bad guy might be able to connect the dots and possibly do something bad...

You barely look at others' license plates on the road. Even if you look, you can barely remember it. Even if you can remember it, you barely know who is driving it. Even if you know who is driving it, you can barely know what he is posting on this forum.

Cuz you can goto the DMV and get the address of the person with the plate... heck I think you can do it online now!

The problem is when you talk trash about your dealer and reveal your license plate, they'd treat you bad when you bring your car in for service. That's just my $0.02.
