Struggling with 231 hp diesel insurance (UK)

My Ride: On Order, due in May - 2007MY 530D SE, Silver Grey, Black Dakota, Auto, Brushed aluminium shadowline,sports seats / wheel, hi fi speakers, mats, space saver wheel and a few more bits
I am collecting my new E60 231hp 530 D SE in 2 weeks but am having much difficulty getting insurers to recognise the 231 hp post Sept 2005 engine / size
All my internet searches bring up the 218hp version
Can any one help me???

Try the BMW Insurance.
Wouldn't hesitate to give the insurance company you get the best quote from a call to let them know their website has an issue recognizing the new model. They should be interested to resolve that in order to get your business I would think.

I don't think it will make any difference to the costs really - 530d is 530d is 530d

Geico couldnt find my car either. they rated me higher now compared to an m5 i got a quote on 2 wks prior 
. I tried explaing to them that its apx 30,000 dallors cheaper then an m5. they told me they dont have enough info on the car yet and by my next 6 month policy it should be cheaper.

ABI lists 218PS 530d SE as group 17 and actually has no listing for 231PS SE! It lists 530d M SPORT as group 18. So 'officially', the 231PS 530d SE doesn't exist! (Probably why it's being hard to track down for an insurer) The quote will have to be on a 218PS 530d SE (2006) though - no end date has been set... However, the Sport was ended and replaced with M Sport...
Have a look here ABI
