For being on it's last year, the sales in Sweden have been strong for the E60/E61 in 2009. The overall market fell some 17%, but the 5-series fell "only" 13,5% and saw a strong sale during the autumn.
In at 17th place in the overall league which sees Volvo V70 (oh yes) as no 1 in Sweden is not bad at all. Over here, Audi A6 is seen as the main competitor and the A6 fell -17%, but managed to come in before the 5-series again at 14th place.
Anyway, it a very good ending and especially in comparison with the E39 in 2002/2003 when it almost disappeared from the lists...
Up to a couple of years ago diesels were almost non existent due to heavy taxes, but after the tax reform diesel now outperforms petrol. For example, out of 204 sold 5-series in Dec, 180 were diesels!
Total sales E60/E61 in 2009 were 2773 cars.
