My Ride: 2006 530i

Hello,
This past weekend I purchased an '06 530i. I'm completely LOVING the car. It pulls like crazy and the ride is incredible. The car has 62K on it. My only issue is when I'm idling the car makes some noticeable rumbles. It recovers quickly and smooths out ...then it rumbles some more...then smooths out. It feels like the car is trying to catch itself when the a/c compressor cycles on and off, but I'm not sure.
Is this a common problem?

i have a 2006 530i with 70,000km extended warranty will be over by Nov of this year. Notice the rough idle and jerky gear shifting since April, been trying to get this rough idle fix for since then.
My buddy work as the floor man in a BMW dealership
1st my buddy replaced the crank case value for me, since this is not cover under the extended warranty we figure we get this out of the way before it head into the dealership. Conclusion it didn't change the rough idle issue
After, I have gotten my 530i into the dealership. it started with VANO replacement, seem to be better, but not 100% cure. Did a fresh flash of the software to see if help, still no luck.
The latest update, he found out 2 of the cylinder is misfiring. End up taking the engine apart and found out the cylinder block is wearing too much. Just submitted and gotten approval from the extended warranty. A new cylinder block and some seal parts been order and hopefully after this rebuild will fix it.
will keep you guys posted

Cylinder block!!! Ohhhhhh no! I can see the vanos as being an issue with the jerky acceleration. I had that issue with my 328i. I'm just praying this idling issue has nothing to do with needing an engine rebuild. I've found bimmer engines to be bullet proof (minus the vanos issues).

I did some checking around and the consensus is the idle issue is related to the DISA (Adjuster Unit).

Items #2 & #3 are the adjuster units. I'm gonna try swapping them. $200ea.

I have an 08 528i my first BMW so i dont know any common issues BMW has but i also get a low rumble at idle. It is like a low bass frequency you can only hear at dead stop with the music off and it idles super steady. Ive looked up a few forums on it and it could be exhaust hangers everyone was saying i will be looking into it myself

I don't know if this is the solution you are looking for but I fixed mine today. It was like a low rumble after 5-10 sec at a light. I used the cable and the new version of inpa to adjust my idle you can do parked/ac on/ ac on in drive/etc... I bumped it up about 50rpm to right around 720 and a tad more with the ac on. The rumble is now gone.

New cylinder block and bunch of seal been replaced. Car seems to be worst then before. It shake even when turning the steering wheel. Seem like any power drain from the engine will cost the problem now.
Back in the dealer again, they will trying other things. Glade I do have the extended warranty. The bill as of now is $12,000cnd.

I had a problem under 1200 RPM, cylinder misfiring. It was a brken DISA flap. I fixed it for less than $5 and problem has been gone for years now. Because of the way I fixed it I doubt it will come back. I have noticed you have an 06. I have an 04 with the M54 engine so It may not be the same although for some reason the diagram posted does look identical as the M54. #12 plastic flap was always open which shouldn't be for low RPM. Good luck.
