Hey sorry to hear the stolen mirrors, I think the thing with the auto dimming mirror is that if you have it inside your car, it should be pre-wired for the outside. But the best bet is ask your dealer or Iceman if he happen to drop by

There's no need to leave the family because of some isolated incident, and ats77 is right, you said is a driving experience not racing so I believe you didn't lied about the driving part. No need to get angry over someone saying things that you have no control over.

But let's stop discussion here before this topic get locked/erase

Well, here you go. This is your mistake. A car is a car, no matter how much we love it. Things happen to it, beyond our will. No need to put soul in any inanimate object.

Yes...that kinda the right attitude. But how can i help myself? I'm a car passionate...even more i'm a bmw fan. I dunno...i just put sole in it. I tend to connect with my car...especially because it's my primarily mean of trasportation. Also i know 2 things about man-car realationship that tend to be true most of the time:
1. How you treat the car, the car treats back at you.
2. You can say alot about a man from how he cares for his car. Mostly about cleaning and stuff.

You're right to put sole instead of soul. That's what I was talking about...

Nevertheless, I agree with both your assertions... However, I've few comments 1. this is about technical side, really. Changing oil, filters, break pads and discs, etc. and 2. indeed. It's like with clothes.

For example, I always wash my car, but since this cold started, I just did not want to do it, because I don't like it afterwards. And I don't know a place, where you can REALLY dry the car before getting out in -10 degrees. I also don't like washing it in weekends as in our city, queues tend to be overwhelming in weekends. I also never wash my car myself, not that I would not want to, but that's another story. So if I come on Friday from a long trip, and my cars is dirty, I will have it dirty over the weekend. This means I am what?

More than this, again, our city streets are not the most clean in the world and car tends to be dusty after just a day. Should I go to wash my car each other day? I guess, not. This way, I will not own a BMW, but a BMW will own me.

Sorry to read that your glass was stolen. I can get the mirrors here in Germany for ?206 a piece.
I do not know however if you can put in auto dimming without the function being built in. I know that the auto dimming has an extra connector for them to work which is controlled by the rear view mirror. If the harness is already in your car then you should be able to install the mirrors. You may be able to get them off of ebay. That is how I got mine a while back.
If you search for my Euro mirror install you should be able to see the wires you need in order to utilize the auto-dimming mirrors.

I must admit, ?412 for two pieces of mirror glass, glued to some plastic, is just a little bit steep. But hey, this is life...

Fluid in the glass? Are we talking about not-auto-dimming mirrors?
