Oh come on guys... where's all this hate for the STi coming from? I own an STi and I love it. It's a totally different machine meant for totally different things. I have respect for both machines. I am pretty sure that the STi with equal drivers could beat the 550i in the 1/4 mile. From a roll beyond 100, it might be a different story. Anyways, the STi wasn't meant for straight line acceleration, but it does pretty well at it. The STi on the other hand is no match in terms of comfort, luxury, and class. Feel free to check out my pictures in my signature. I haven't had the chance to upload any pics of the 530i yet, but will very soon. Cheers!

Nah, there's no hate going on. All I said was that the STi owner might have gone to a STi forum and posted he pwned a 550i is all. And, I don't see anyone else saying anything bad about the STi or else my vision is going too in addition to being senile.

If the guys on the m5board are just going to cruise PCH, then they're missing out on some great canyons right over the hill. Angeles Crest is nice, but I much prefer the canyons in Malibu.

I'd be tempted to tag along, but sad to say that I just got a ticket in Malibu on PCH last weekend.

Let me just be clear on my little rants purpose. Def not a hater here. I'm a big fan of the STI. I know a guy with one and it does an awesome job at what it's designed for... crazy fun little car.. Regardless of which car is 'spec'd' to be faster and all, I was just grumpling at this drivers behavior on the motorway. He could have been driving a go-gart and I'd still be ranting.. although I might have beaten him then..

I doubt it... they'll drive the malibu canyons... I've been with them on quite a few E39 M5 runs so I know their style... I'm positive. I know a few of them who are going who've traded up to the E60 M5.
