So I've owned my car for maybe 1 1/2 weeks and its been in the dealership for 3 days going on 4.....

First problem was the voice command button not working. Left it there for 2 days so they can replace it and re-program the car. Fine no big deal. I also told them about a weird noise coming from the engine bay at cold start, said they checked it and theres no issue.....

Second problem....I was driving and my Service Engine Soon came on and I brought it in the next morning. Before I brought it in though I read Diamonds thread about the ticking sound and told my SA about it. He said no problem, we'll do the bleeding test and should have my car done by the end of that day. Since SES came on my SA said its an emissions issue (I checked all the Idrive info and everything was in the green) The SA said that it was probably caused by the programming system.
I call for an update today and he tells me he needs it for another day............ . He said that BMWNA was contacted and they told him to replace the camshaft sensor (I think thats what he said) and also the intake manifold gasket. I knew that buying a BMW will have a little more mechanical issues than I'm used to, but I hope everything gets taken care of soon.

I've been really patient (surprisingly haha) I think its b/c no matter what the 5 is such a sexy car and I'm willilng to wait haha. The way I see it is I rather it be taken care of now rather than later.

/end rant

Whoops haha I meant that my previous cars did not give me mechanical issues and going into a BMW I knew that it would be some down time (or atleast thats how I positioned myself to think of it), but not after a week and a half of ownership! haha.

Did you buy it as a CPO? I hope you did. My 04 is flawless and is still running strong. I just cracked 30k miles today. Anyway, good luck with everything.

Yeah it is CPO. Gladly I'd hate to have to foot the bill on that one. I guess the bright side is that I'll be getting a couple of new parts haha.

Another update

Dropped the car off on the 24th, supposed to be ready by today....guess what? Its not....

It went in for these reasons.

1. SA got BMWNA to approve the new cylinder head
2. Noisy squeaky interior
3. Rough Idle on cold start ups and sometimes at a stop
4. Car is shifting left and right noticeably when stopped
5. 08v-384 recall
6. Squeaky brakes

So far he's completed:

1, 2, and 6.

He thinks that the shifting is probably caused by the rough idle, so they ordered another part today but won't get it till Monday. ETA for my car return is Monday.

I've been really REALLY patient and cool about it so far, but I think i'm starting to get a bit tired of it, my car has been in there as long as I've gotten to drive it. What really is starting to piss me off is that the sales guy kept assuring me that the car had 0 problems. Foolish me took his words for it since its a CPO......

/end rant.

Keep a close call on the dealer.

I had my car at the dealer for about 5 weeks and honestly they didnt fix anything. I got it back cause i was tired of driving a loaner chrysler.
