Dear all,

I recently bought a set of alloys+tyres from ebay, as it was cheaper than 4 new tyres! Unfortunately, the previous owner seems to have been Stevie Wonder, who was using them for parking practice. The wheels are in pretty bad shape, with multiple kerbing marks and scratches.

Rather than going for a full refurb, I was thinking about buying one of these kits that has alloy filler, primer and paint.

Question(s):
Has anyone used one of these kits? Were the results any good? If they were good, what kit did you use?

I'm in the UK, so I guess it would need to be something I could get from a supplier here. There's no shortage of them on ebay and one in Halfords, but I've no idea if they're any good, or complete pants.

Many Thanks

James.

You dont really need a kit - I refurbed my wheels with lots (I mean lots) of sanding and filling using that liquid metal stuff they sell in halfords. They also sell alloy wheel silver paint.

However - to do the job properly you really need to spray the whole wheel IMO, this is mega time consuming by hand due to all the sanding so next time I will stump up the £200 to get all 4 wheel refurbed.
