My Ride: '08 550i, carbon black, sport package

I have searched the forums and have not found issue that I am experiencing:

I just received my new 550. It has Logic 7 sound and ipod/usb aux connection. No CD changer. No Sirius.

When I look at the various modes available they read: FM, AM, WB, CD, AUX.

Here is the problem: If I am listening to FM and switch the modes, it will cycle through all of them except for AM. If I am listening to AM, it will cycle through all of the except for FM.

This was not a problem on my '04 545 which did not have the AUX.

Has anyone experienced this? Is this a known software issue?

Much Thanks.

Can't say that I've experienced that problem. If I want to switch modes, I either speak it into existence or use the iDial.

I realize there are several ways to change the mode. I have a steering wheel button programed for the easiest way to switch modes.

Seems like in issue if the mode button does not switch to all available modes.

I was hoping those with expertise with the software versions would know if this is a know issue.

Not sure what version i have running but the car was purchased 12/1 from the BMW dealer.

that sounds weird.
but make sure you're not pressing the button many times too quickly - sometimes iDrive lags. wait for the next source to come up before pressing the button again.

Nope, pushing it real slowly and watching it change on the screen. This occurs if i use the programmed wheel button or the mode button on the stereo.

I had the issue a while back.

A software update fixed it.

I experience a similar issue. When cycling through the modes on the steering wheel, I can get FM, AM, Weather Channel respectively. But it will not switch to AUX, it will just go back to FM. Any solution to this problem? Is this a dealer recode issue?

Since I don't have that function on the steeringwheel button anymore I start thinking the bug might be back...
