Today, after driving the car hard for about 300 miles in sports mode, the gearbox played up.
When the box tried to shift back from 6 to 5, at about 4000rpm, it felt like a manual changing gears without a clutch. A horrible mechanical noise. This happened three times.
After that I tried to set the ACC and got a fault message and it wouldn't work anymore.
This will be a hard one for the dealer to reproduce, as you'd have to do about 120mph. I'm a little bit worried about it
After having the car parked up for about two hours the ACC worked again.
Anybody with the same experience?

Hi Flowerfred,
YES I have had the same. Not at 120mph but at any cruising speed and in D. The down change sounded like the car was driving over rumble strips in the road and hiccuped before carrying on. Did not try using ACC.
I could not reproduce the problem at will.
Dealer put in ver 13 software and the problem has not happened again.
I am still strugling though with unusual gear change behaviour and lag/pedal response issues.

I get the odd down change that feels a bit "odd" but have to say after the 13.1 update have not had any more incidents (touch wood).

Yeah, sounds like it. This will probably mean software upgrade number 4 for me then..
According to my dealer it's a known issue (another customer has the same problem) and BMW is working on it!
Seems that BMW-engineers have become 'problem solvers' instead of car designers...
