Is it safe to use DS while the car is still in break-in period?

Won't DS push up the revs too high?

DS is okay during "break-in" (or is it "brake-in"). It gives the car different shift points even though you keep the rpms' at or below 4500.

Just watch your tach and do not be TOO aggressive.

I hardly ever use the DS mode. I find that with the low rev torque of the diesel it makes hardly any difference.

You guys should try the manual mode. You can shift it like a manual by clicking into the next gear just before letting off the gas for a second.

It works great if you practice and get the timing right.

Always on DS mode . On the smaller engines the car is a lot more responsive and the engine much more punchy

Why are you taking the gas off before shifting ?

With SMG, letting off allows an imperceptible shift. Maybe same thing with Steptonic?

I doubt it's imperceptible.

It's DS most of the time! Singapore is a small island country with beautiful roads, though they can be a little short. And if one wants to drive rather enthusiastically, DS is the mode to let the other car know who is ruling that road for that moment .
