I was coming to a stop in my week & 1/2 old 550 today and did not want to stall so I stepped on the clutch to pull it into neutral. The problem is that I no longer have a stick but a SAT. Has anyone else who's made the change accidentally done this??

Havn't done that yet, but will be taking delivery of my new E60 535d in May, and this will be my first Auto. I have an E61 525d
Manual at the moment, So i'm sure I'll do something similar at leasy once!!

I remember my first venture in an auto a few years back, when I was just manouvering in a drive, and left foot braked, forgetting there was no clutch, and nearly put myself through the windscreen

It happens to be called a windshield and if you had the steering wheel on the correct frigging side you might not be so damn confused. (Oh sorry, "bloody" side)

Gene, he drives a diesel. Try sending him a PM. I bet he uses words like lorrie, lift and calls a sweater a "jumper."

Nope, not me! Oh who am I trying to kid, I drove manual transmission cars for 25+ years, so it only natural that every now and again, I'd go "searching " for the clutch pedal!

Jeff, Check your computer settings I think the laughing little yellow heads are not showing up.
Of course he isn't from NJ. He ventures in autos in drives. The last time someone ventured in an auto in the Tri-State area he got the crap kicked out of him by a guy in a Camaro.

You Guys, you love us Brits really!! - Whats the problem Jeff, can't you get deisels in the States? Looks like you will soon this year, then you'll be trading your gas guzzler in for the 535d

Well you would if you lived in the UK, petrol equivelent to $10 a gallon Hence the 0-60, 6secs Tractor engine

Quite honestly it's really tempting but I do have a concern. When I filled up today I paid $3.29/gallon for Super and Diesel was selling for $4.09. if diesel gets 30% better mileage but is 30% more money, where's the advantage??
