Hi,
I get a vibration on the steering wheel sometimes when I drive at highway speeds when the road is not straight, and when I brake hard it vibrates a bit and goes, my brake pads and discs are fine.
Any help would be appriciated thanks.

I had a little bit of steering wheel wobble on my 06 530i with the BMW 166 rims that i bought second-hand back in February. It was time for new rubber for the front, and when I had the new tires put on, one of the wheels took over 3 ounces of weight. It had no visible bend, but i just thought that was too much weight. I took it to a local wheel straightening company and $150 later, it's within 12 one thousandths of an inch of factory tolerance and no more wobble! (oddly enough it still required 3 oz. to rebalance after putting the tire back on ) Smooth as butter now though!

Thanks for helping but I don't think I have a bend,I had it checked out it appeared that my lower control arms need to be replaced, but would that be the reason ?

Yes that could very well be the reason. Just had mine replaced about 2 months ago and the difference was night and day. The wheel can actually move an inch or two when applying the brakes or going over rough roads when the control arm bushings have gone bad.

I also had that, but I just had a bearing replaced today and the difference is mind boggling, so smooth now. That could be your problem

How much did you guys spend on replacing the lower control arms? If rear wheels start to look like /\ , would that be it?
