so, I had the car lowered on bilsteins and H&R sports and had alignment done. I got the car back last night and noticed that to drive straight the steering wheel is slightly turned off center? thinking of taking back for them to fix, I'm I just being too picky?

not picky at all. I had my bilstein sport shocks installed and after alignment the steering wheel was to the left. our guys fixed it in no time the next time I came back :)

I had this problem last year after alignment, but before I took it back I realized that the steering wheel looking like being turned off center was only caused by the tilt of the road. So it was straight, but driving a road with a slightly tilted lanes caused the effect. edit: Mine "was left" too, so check this tilted lane thing before you take it back ;). |

No, you're not picky. If you pay for something, it should be done correctly.

If the road is empty, take the car to the middle of the road where the tilt doesn't "draw" the car on the either side and then center the wheel. If it still steers on the right --> take it back. |
Who did the alignment? BMW? An indie? Do you have active steering? If you do have AS, you really have to be careful when getting an alignment from a place that isn't familiar with AS and/or doesn't have the proper equipment to reinitialize the system, etc.

So they hooked it up to the computer and did that and everything is good to go. |
