I found an SMG with everything I want but cold weather. I live in Southern California, and dont really need it. The only reason I ordered was for the thicker steering wheel. Does the SMG automatically come with a thicker wheel. If not, how difficult is it to replace the thin one, and how much. Does anyone know?

The smg wheel is thicker than the normal wheel, but SMG plus CWP is even thicker.

I too thought that the CWP was a waste of money, but it turned out to be one of my favorite features. A heated steering wheel is sweet, and the heated seats do a much better job than other cars I've experienced.

I use my heated wheel sometimes in the summer, believe it or not. I like to keep the cabin cool with the a/c but there are times when if feels great to heat the wheel while the rest of you is "chilly"...

Me too...I'll open the sunroof when it's sunny (but cool) and heat the seats at the same time....nice.

If you do not like the steering wheel you can always get the M steering wheel.

Hi

The M5 Steering Wheel is available, rim only, and costs about 390 pounds in the UK + 17.5% Tax.

IMO get the CWP if you can.

All the Best

Hobi,

Thanks. I was waiting for you to chime in. To do the modification, is the rim all I will need. I am ending up with CWP, but still want the M5 wheel. Are you sure I can get it in the states? I also want to do the paddle mod with my steptronic. Can you let me know all the parts I will need, and if you can, there cost in US dollars. I always have a rough time making the currency conversion.

The CWP is terrific. I use the seat heater to heat my back, even with the AC on. The heated steering wheel is something I never thought I needed until I had it. It feels great if it's even the least bit cold, I use it all the time.
