I really like that steering wheel.... Can?t we get those parts and install them in our standard steering wheels ?? About the ?European? sport wheel, I don?t like it.. it?s very, very ugly....

The 545/6sp I just picked up in Munich has the same titanium trim. I would love to be able to pop it out and put in either black or the poplar wood like on the dash. I bought the poplar/leather shift knob at the BMW Niederlassung dealer in Munich, so if I could replace that metallic trim, that would be perfect.

I have a STD 545i without the sport package and that is the steering wheel that comes with the car.

Perhaps, the earlier production ones do not have the titanium trim. My car was built on Mar 27, 04. 545i with sport pkg.

I saw several 545i non sport with titanium trim on the steering wheel too.

Yes, it seems true. For newer built on 545 with or without sports package, the titanium trim on the steering wheel is standard according to BMWNA.

So sorry - I didn't look at the photo properly - and now see what you are all talking about!. ( I have Euro sport wheel - which gives problems for talll drivers because it impairs the view of the speedo top)

Tekor...how easy is it to fit the wooden transmission selector, also do you know if they do it in maple as well as poplar??

(sorry for being off-topic but you posted a great picture!)

my upcoming 530i will have the euro sports steering wheel. it comes with the sports package in canada. i think this rounded/smaller steering wheel is incredible looking.
to my understanding it is only available in the US if the car is fitted with SMG.
