In my new 550 I figured out that the start up sequence works 2 ways. With the key fob in the ignition - but not clicked in - I can push the start button and then push in the key and the engine fires up. (The standard sequence: click in the key and then hit the start button - foot on the brake, of course, both ways).

Who knew?

He doesn't believe in the computer-sensible rule of never thinking "gee I wonder what would happen if I ..., and then trying it.

Interesting... thats cool heheh

The M5s have reported that you can plug the key in hit the start button while in gear and of course it wont start but then once you move the lever to N it fires right up!

Thats very interesting also... I've tried it with my SMG and it didnt work.

Had the car in gear then twisted the key to start it and THEN move the lever to N but no workie....

Anyone want to try one a 550 smg?
