[/quote]Exactly, the start/stop button is not exactly the type in the Lexus GS where you just need to have your key in your pocket and you can start the car by a press of the button. The existing system works just like the start/stop button, you just turn your key to the start position and let go, don't need to hold the key and the engine will start itself. Now I live in HK and my car does that, I don't know about other places but it should be the same thing since it's built in Germany.

The start/stop button leads to another option called 'comfort access' which does allow you to have the key in your pocket when entering the car - allowing you to just press the 'start button on the bottom left of your desktop' and the car (or windows XP) will just start automatically. much like the Lexus system you describe.
